PartyWagon
Hey crew, I spotted a COBB downpipe on Craigslist but the guy selling it doesn't know if it's the AT or MT version. I need to know how to tell them apart...I need an AT version. Anyone know how to spot the difference? http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/pts/1601234987.html http://www.epicsuspension.com/NASIOC/ForSale/PARTS/7.jpghttp://www.epicsuspension.com/NASIOC/ForSale/PARTS/9.jpg Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot. .../PartyWagon/... lgtgirl06
I don't know how to tell the difference but, that looks just like mine. MT.
PartyWagon
I know that the AT version has to bend differently around the AT itself, but how much bend at what point is what I'm struggling with. Do they have part #'s on the casting or stamped into the piping? Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot. .../PartyWagon/... thebigevilfoot
The actual AT DP is a bit longer as well, if that helps.
scoobydoobie
this may be too obvious but.. did you ask him what transmission the car that ran that pipe had? Here's a few pics of my AT Cobb DP if that helps any: http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/7925/parts01.jpg http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/6369/stg03.jpg http://img60.imageshack.us/img60/5439/dp01nd2.jpg http://img378.imageshack.us/img378/9149/dp02pg2.jpg

Here's a few pics of my AT Cobb DP if that helps any: Thanks for the pics. And yes, I did ask the seller about the car it came from but they don't know. Given the number of UPs & DPs in their ad posting they've got to be a tuner shop of some sort, but the site those pics are posted on (www.epicsuspension.com) is for a business named Racecomp Engineering, based out of Maryland. My guess: someone local to Puget Sound who can use the site to post stuff. Given the site has conspicuous photographer credits to one Armin Ausejo I suspect it's being posted on behalf of World One (I think he still works there, anyway). scoobydoobie
No problem. Now if someone could post pics of their MT Cobb DP, it should be easy to figure out which the one being sold is. If you are local to the tuner shop, maybe they'd let you drive over, put it on a lift and hold the pipe up to see if the bends match the DP on your car.
