posco
Hi, I've got a problem with my ABS on my Subaru Legacy GX 1992. It randomly turns itself off. Just randomly when I'm driving, the "antilock brake" lamp lightens, and the ABS ain't working anymore. Could someone here help me with this problem? Sorry for bad english, but I still hope you can help me with my problem^^ Haakon
ehsnils
It is probably a sensor that is malfunctioning. Not easy to figure out which one, but inspect the cabling to each sensor and also check if the teeth in the rings at each wheel are complete and relatively clean. It can also be problems with oxides in a connector so disconnect each connector, clean it and reconnect it and see if it helps.
whitetiger
+1 to it being a wheel sensor.

dmanaenk
^ bbs.legacycentral.org is a lot more active for first generation car questions. And ABS light could mean totally unrelated stuff. Check if your alternator is producing right voltage. These fail frequently with age and cause ABS to illuminate occasionally before dying.
