deer3
well it looks like imma have to wait for a tactrix cable because all my attempts to get this cable to work have been unsucessful...and if you can believe it my local subaru dealership is too afraid to check out the car and by their own words not qualified to diagnose turbo problems
WTBmoreboost
easy way to check for boost leak is spray ether ( starting fluid ) on your boost hoses , if the idle picks up it could be a boost leak and you should check where you just sprayed , i did it to mine earlier after i installed my vac/boost gauge and MBC just to make sure everything was tight exact hoses = from the wastegate to the vacuum on the compressor housing and the hose that runs to your BPV or BOV or w/e u have
mwiener2
^^ you won't find a boost leak with starting fluid. Especially smaller leaks, they tend to be sealed at idle and low load. They don't start leaking till higher pressures. Vacuum leaks can be found with fluid though. cfdrumr
I had the exact problem one time. Try a few things Unplug the hose right at the wastegate. DO NOT PUSH THE CAR HARD!!! See if you will boost over 10psi. The spring in the waste gate is 11psi i think. I had a problem once when i overboosted... the computer pulled all the boost and I could only hit wastegate pressure. If you are boosting, then it is a computer/hose problem. Also, unplug your battery and let the ECU reset. Should take care of it.
deer3
if i unplug the battery lets say for a few mins will my maps on the ecu still be there? might be a dumb question but i have to ask
deer3
also how long do i leave it off for to reset it?
mwiener2
if you have an AP, the basemap will be saved, the realtime will get dropped. Unplug battery, hold down brake pedal for 10-15sec. that will reset ECU.
