skeelo
I have a 95 legacy with the 2.2L with 221,000 miles. It started overheating on the freeway at sustained speeds of 55 then it started doing it around town. But each time it wants to over heat I can rev the engine and it will cool back down and last a while. So i replaced the t-stat. When I put the anti-freeze back in it took forever to burp the radiator. Now it is not near as bad but will still try to over heat going up the mountains. Still cools off when I rev it up. When I do rev it up it is an instant cool off. I don't think it would be the head gaskets because it will run for hours with no problems just when you climb the mountains. Slow radiator??? skeelo
I think I just found my problem today when I saw antifreeze gushing from the water pump. Should I replace the timming belt while I am at it?
ehsnils
If you haven't done it and you are in the area you may as well do it. But make sure that you replace the tensioner too or the replacement will be wasted if the tensioner bearing goes.
