veritas
Ok, so I was finally able to snap some pics of my lights on so if the informed people can take a look and tell me if these look ok. I hope the pics are good enough. Here we go: 5 Feet: http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d113/climbinglife/IMG_1746.jpg 10 Feet: http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d113/climbinglife/IMG_1753.jpg 10 Feet With High Beams on: http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d113/climbinglife/IMG_1754.jpg 25 Feet: http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d113/climbinglife/IMG_1758.jpg 25 Feet with high beams on: http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d113/climbinglife/IMG_1759.jpg I hope these are enough. Vbelisle
those high beams have very little output
veritas
^^^Ok, lol but are the headlights aligned. I just put the high beams on in a few shots to show the beam separation.
MiniStiGuy
they look aligned fine I am assuming the 3rd shot the reasoning for the beam being up higher is that the ground slopes down for drainage. They are aligned though so good job! OEM HID's Rx330 Retro
TSiWRX
^ The guru has spoken! You're good to go! OK, now that that's settled, what's up with the high-beams?!!?!!!! <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family
veritas
Thanks for the help guys. I guess I just never noticed the line before...as for the high beams, I'm putting my stock ones back in. I bought a set of blue-ish bulbs from Pep boys and I guess they suck. As far as the third shot. the ground was pretty level. could have been the angle I was holding the camera at. You think they need to be adjusted down slightly? MiniStiGuy
if the ground is level then based on the 3rd shot you are high on the aim. Follow my aiming guide when you find more level ground and you should be all set. The DOT approved drop rate is that your low section of the beam should drop ~ 2 inchs at a distance of 25ft from the stock height of the projector. The high beams are aimed fine as that's how they look but this car's highs aren't that great anyways so don't worry about them. veritas
Would be the reason why the beam cutoff seems to be high in my field of vision? Also, how much to I lower them, are there a set number of turns of the screw for the vertical?
teK--
The driver side should be lower so you don't blind incoming traffic. I.e. Both sides should not have the same vertical cutoff such as in your photos.
OhBe1
The driver side of the driver side low-beam should be aligned level with the driver side of the passenger side low-beam. I.e., the headlights should be level with one another. 06LOB2.5i MT, JDMRSB, GYTTs, HPS, LGT Mufflers & Leather Wheel, SubiMomo Knob, Inalfa Moonroof, Clutch Switch Bypass, DeDRLd, DeChimed, & Straight Headrest. The low beams lower step should be aligned with one another leaving the high step for distance and signs. The correct distance for DOT specs is 2 inches lower than the projector height at 25ft. MiniStiGuy
I see in reading it again it makes me seem like an @ss and I really am not one. I apologize if it came across that way. I actually have up a headlight aiming guide on here. OEM HID's Rx330 Retro
