Turn signal problems

Hey guys, I ran a couple searches for this but couldn't really find anything relevant.. apologies if this has already been posted.

 

Awhile back, my left turn signal stopped working if I pushed it past the "click". So in order to get a left turn signal happening, I just had to hold the signal stalk right before the click. My right signal worked fine. It was like this for several months.

 

However, the other day my right signal started acting up - in order to turn on, I had to push it passed the "click". The day after, it stopped working altogether. (actually that's a lie - the right signal will turn it on if I hold it right on the "click", but it's nearly impossible to get, especially while making a lane change or something).

 

Any suggestions? I would dick around with the cover or something, but I don't want to blow the airbag. I also don't know what I'm doing.

 

This is a 2000 legacy.
