Brighton99v
I drive a 1999 Legacy Brighton wagon 2.2L EJ22. Is that a 2nd generation or a third generation Subaru Legacy?

Bdubs
3rd Um. No. In North America, 99 is still 2nd gen. In other countries the gen's start a year earlier, that is the reason why the way the forums are segregated the way they are.

WESTcoast
Did not know that, thanks. Found this also - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru_Legacy yeah I wouldnt trust wiwkipedia to tell me how many days are in a year as someone might of changed them to 15 lol. On there It says in the 5thgen of the legacys that the EZ36 is only offered in Japan on the Outback. When really the EZ36 is offered in America on both the Legacy and the Outback as a different trim level. so you have: Legacy 2.5i (ej253) N/A Legacy 2.5GT (ej254) Turbo Legacy 3.6R (ez36) n/a and same goes for the outback trim levels haha sorry for the rant i guess im bored ill go now haha
