In 1st, 3rd, or 5th, measure the distance from the front of the shifter to the edge of the console trim. I'm curious why mine seems so far forward, less than 1/4" from the trim in 5th gear. Thanks! I took the knob off, shifted to 3rd, and measured with the depth-side of my digital-mic from the top of the shaft to the temp display. 3.73" To the shift console trim (what the shifter pokes up through) in 5th gear, I can barely get my pinky between. And in the back gears (2,4,R) it looks like the shifter is barely leaning back, almost like it is in neutral.
