legacee
I recently replaced the alternator on my 96 legacy and have immediately noticed a consistent reduction in mpg from 27 to 22. Is there something that I was supposed to reset? The belt tension is good, as I replaced the belt also. Can anyone think why my gas mileage would drop by almost 20%? thanks
WESTcoast
take the belt off, and spin the pulleys around, more conerninly the alternator pulley see if it is really stiff as that might be the problem a bad bearing in the alternator.
