mgwinn
I have a 95 Subaru Legacy and have been having problems for almost a year now. It started because of the cold weather and it sat for a few days, so it wouldn't start. Since then, I've changed the battery, coil, spark plugs, and fuel filter, but no luck. It's to the point now that it will start, but as soon as a let off the gas it dies. What is the problem???
Bdubs
All the intake parts connected? No Vacuum leaks?
mgwinn
not sure..im not that car savy..but I've had a few people look at it and not sure what's wrong, but they weren't that familiar with Subarus either.
dante2699yahoo.com
Is yours MAF clean? If that gets anything on it. I will make proformance bad.
Bdubs
Check to make sure your air cleaner box (big black box on the pass. side wheel well) is sealed tightly, and the tubes aren't loose or cracked. That'd be the first step to see if there is anything amiss in that area.

HeathyVT
Could also be a cam sensor, I just replaced mine , due to rough starting and hesitation(almost like a fuel cut)
WESTcoast
how easily does it want to start, does it have trouble getting it to crank, does it crank sometime and then sometimes you will get nothing? If so I had it where my starter went out, I could start my car but it wouldn't hold an idle.
DN1911
cam sensor, crank sensor, vacuum leak, and other major electrical issues can all cause this. are you getting a super high idle when you start it? this would indicate a vacuum leak
