T4RBoarder
Just picked up my 3.0R VDC on friday and the first thing on my list to do to my OB is replace pads and rotors on all 4 corners cause they are BADLY warped and I have heard a lot of OB ppl have had warping problems. I was wondering if any of y'all have recommendations on a setup to use? I was considering ATE PremiumOne Slotted Rotor and Akebono ProACT pads? Also, how easy is it to do brakes on these? I would like to avoid a shop if possible but I am terrified to do a brake job on my own. Thanks in advance!
OBieXT
Search for 'brake shake' on this site. It may well be that you don't need rotors afterall. I just put a set of Hawk HPS on my OBXT and they seem to do quite well.
pachilla
Hawk HPS works better than stock pads on my 3.0R, period!!!
mwiener2
You're rotors are probably NOT warped. Just go buy some premium pads and be done with it My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
Stang70Fastback
Having driven with new HPS pads for about two weeks now after only knowing the world of stock Subaru pads, all I can say is HOLYSHITCAKES. Being able to out-brake your tires with 50% pedal force FTW!!! Not being able to afford new stickier tires FTL.
OhBe1
Out-braking the tires is easy with the RE92A, unfortunately.
