stanghater
So I have had a problem for about a year now with my 05 LGT Wagon. THe car rides and drives fine, but when you hit the brakes, it shimmies HARD. I mean hard. scary hard. I have done new brakes and rotors twice and checked all the wheels for balance. The car doesnt shimmy at all when you dont push the brakes, just when you brake. its really bad at hgh speeds, and not so bad at lower speeds can you guys help? Sebastian
Are you using OEM brake pads, if so ditch them.

iyalla
What do you mean shimmy? You mean like a pull to the left or right?? It may be a sticky caliper. Try driving for a half hour or so then pull over and place your hand on each wheel, see if one of the wheels feels hotter than the others.
stanghater
its a shake, shimmy at low speeds and a violent shake at high speeds
OGG
Warped or contaminated rotors or(if your lucky) bad wheel balance(but I doubt it).
Sebastian
Have you had the alignment checked?
stanghater
haven checked the alignment yet, would that do it? Im gonna try to re bed the pads this weekend
Sebastian
I'm no expert but I believe alignment can cause vibrations while braking. I think tire shops offer free alignment inspections.
meier motor sports
you said they are new rotors and you still get the shimmy. there is possibly debrie between the rotor and hub or a bent hub or just the rotor is bad. (some times the parts stores drop them)
