I have spoken with our Technical Service Department, and they advised that airbags are found only where marked with the SRS Airbag label. There are no airbags installed on the A-Pillar itself, however they did caution that there are side curtain airbags installed in each 2005 Legacy and Outback vehicle. Installation of aftermarket products, including the gauge pod mentioned in your earlier message, may interfere with or compromise the vehicle's performance, integrity, or safety. For this reason, we do NOT recommend the installation of any aftermarket part into any of our vehicles. Doing so may affect your warranty on any related failures. Any problems caused by the installation of performance or aftermarket products will not be covered by your warranty, thus you would be responsible for the repairs. I regret that we are unable to provide the response you may have anticipated. However, I trust that you can appreciate our position.
