timmahh
Can you compress air with a passive device? I don't see how that would work A turbo works because it gets power from the exhaust to compress the air A s/c works because it gets power from the engine drive/access. belt to compress the air This thing... just spins when air passes by. It's completely possible you'll get a little bit more turbulent air from it, which may or may not add a very MINOR bump in power due to the possibly better mixed fuel/air; but you cannot compress air by pulling it over itself... Because when the pressure becomes greater than the air coming it, the little fan, which isn't powered by anything but the air coming in, won't spin. I think you would have better luck modifying a 12volt high CFM computer fan and stuffing it in there, atleast that would force air into the system. The thing on ebay is passive and relies on the engines vacuum to suck air past it. Cliffs: - Don't buy it
RJS5689
If you go to the website they tell you to, http://superchargertuning.com/, it even tells you that it can actually cause a power loss!
timmahh
Wait wait wait wait.. The eBay link says ADD like 8+ HP right? But on their website, for the same effing product: 1. Mechanical Supercharger or air intake supercharger These superchargers sold contain a fan blade inside a metal housing that is designed to install into your air intake housing. Draw Back: Gains no power, and can actually loose power because the air intake flow is reduced. Usually 2.5 inches in diameter. Positives: Easy to install on most vehicles with 2.5-3 inch intake runner. These cannot be installed on cars with big engines with larger diameter intake hose. What's the friggin point of installing it if they flat out say it DOES NOTHING?!?!?!!?
m sprank
None. That's the point. Save your money, or just give it to me, lol.

Silverstar
The point is that it is "easy to install". Who wants to mess around with a complicated install when this can be done easily!

Mega Users LieutenantDan Posted September 26, 2009 Mega Users Share Posted September 26, 2009 Just pack your air intake with dryer sheets. That will help your air filter, will drastically reduce efficiency, and will give your exhaust the wonderful smell of clean laundry! We need to somehow limit these types of threads. We as a people can only handle so much tongue in cheek
