Woodstock Posted September 16, 2009 Share Posted September 16, 2009 I have a problem with my Greddy evo 2 hitting the rear sway bar; stiff setting (perrin 22m). The clearance between the exhaust and RSB is less than half inch (I can barely slide my finger in between). The exhaust shakes when I am in 1st and 2nd gear, or starting the car. I can hear it banging when Im going uphill at low speeds. 10 - 20mph I was thinking if there is a harder exhaust hanger, so that It can keep my exhaust from shaking or just place a heat resistant rubber in between. any thoughts on this? pillboy Posted September 16, 2009 Share Posted September 16, 2009 I have no idea how hot the exhaust pipe gets in that location, but if you go the rubber route, check the baking section in Target/Walmart for silicone hot pads, etc. I'm not sure what they can withstand, but it is probably at least 450 to 500 since recipes call for those baking temps. Silicone radiator hose would probably work too, but probably more expensive than a piece of silicone bakeware. It is still ugly. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm surprised you didn't get them with your new exhaust. It's the $20 icing on a $600+ cake. Edit: some company (think it's kartboy, might be others too though, been a while) sells longer exhaust hanger bushings. I put one of those on at the hanger where the exhaust crosses the axle, because I had some fitment issues too. Anyways, know that there are good options available for all the people that have modified cars and bouncy stock exhaust hanger bushings. So technically you would replace 5 (the total number on your exhaust. The thing will not bounce around after that. It's a cheap solution for an annoying problem.
