1astrokeit
I bought oem gaskets from subaru for up pipe, minfold, crossover, and dp. My question is, I here people saying to put permatex copper high-temp silicone on each side of the gasket. Is that necessary on all the gaskets or just up pipe? Do I even need silicone on new gaskets or is this be safe kinda thing so I don't have to pull the up pip back out?
mwiener2
OEM gaskets do NOT require any type of sealant. People like to use various products thinking they will help seal things up, but if everything is installed and aligned correctly, you shouldn't need anything. People also occasionally have sealing issues with these pipes.... if you do, I highly recommend double thick OEM style gaskets from Grimmspeed. atc5
you can use a high-temp copper gasket spray, but if it's a new gasket, i wouldn't bother. Use proper torque specs and you're good to go.

dschultz
I don't see any order mentioned in the manual, just torque to 26lb-ft.
