Do you have a dead spot?

Hey guys,

Do you have a dead spot in the red-rings around the gauges? My 09 seems to have a non-lighted spot right below the MPG needle.

Common?

Alright. As long as it isn't just mine.

I think it might be OCD incentive to drive nicely. With the MPG needle dead center, the dead spot all but goes away.

What about sunroof rattles? Seems like the wiring above the map lights likes to rattle.

In fact, it seems like there are a few rattles going on. Not something you expect from a car with a $33k price tag...

Just wait until you get the dashboard rattle (unless they've fixed that for the 08/09 model year---I don't have it in my '08, but did in my '05).

I don't hear any rattling from my sunroof switch, but I will mention something about the sunroof that I've noticed. There's a "pop" almost like you'd imagine hearing a dent being popped out of sheet metal just about once a day. It's possible it's after the sun warms up the roof, and something just pops into place. This has happened on both my '05 LGT when I had it, and now my Spec B. Just find it weird.

Mine is a wagon, so my switch console is different than yours. That might have something to do with it. I know what the problem is, I just need to open that panel and fix it.

I think my other rattle is the change in my ashtray.

I haven't had any dash rattles yet, but I'll post up when it gets colder.

I need a rear cargo organizer of some sort. It's tough to play paintball with all of my gear crowding the back of the car!

Outback. No such thing as an LGT Wagon anymore.

If I remember correctly (from a thread long ago that I don't want to search for), The red "ring" light source is under the center of the needle and is reflected out to the circumference of the gauge. The MPG needle at the bottom of the bigger gauge blocks the light from reaching the edge of the big gauge at the bottom of it. It basically casts a "shadow". Design flaw, not a defect that can be fixed.
It is still ugly.

Any flaw can be fixed. It is whether or not it is worth it that is the true question.

When you drive well, the dead spot all but disappears.
