relhok Posted March 18, 2005 Share Posted March 18, 2005 You've got the right idea. Builds boost for a quicker launch. You might have beaten him off the line and led the whole way by power-braking. The torque converter is bearing the load. It heats up the transmission fluid so power-brake only briefly. Heat is an automatic tranny's worst enemy.
