Insurgent
Ok so drove in ~4 hrs of traffic friday and another 2 hrs today started getting a texture feeling when pushing the clutch in and started chattering badly when trying to engage into 1st. I pulled off the freeway into a parking lot and turned off the car got a burning smell. Started it up again and smoked on me a little bit while chattering and got mechanical noises and squeeling. Until all this I don't think I had any slippage of clutch and when car was in gear things were fine. The car makes the noises with the clutch pushed in but no noises when i let the clutch out. Thoughts on any of the wear and tear parts or a possibility of it actually being tranny?
Mendozer
This was posted many years ago...so bump time...since i'm getting the same issues on my ride. What was the final verdict / solution?
KCwagon
This is very typical for T.O. bearing problems. Mine did the very same thing and about 5 miles later the TOB had chewed the snout off of the output shaft housing of my 5 speed. Do yourself a favor and get it in a shop. A tSK3 kit can save the output shaft housing as long as it is still there.
