bluechipbmw Posted March 11, 2005 Share Posted March 11, 2005 Lately I've been noticing a subtle smell of antifreeze. I don't smell it in the car but within the last 2 weeks I had to change both of my headlight bulbs and thats when I started to smell the antifreeze when I was near the engine. I wasn't driving the car hard nor was the car over heating. Anyone have any suggestions what I should check before making an appointment with the dealer? Has this happened to anyone? I did a search on "antifreeze" and didn't come up with anything useful. Any info would greatly be appreciated. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If a new car, then its probably something like your hose clamps need to be tightened down a little bit on your coolant hoses.
