TWolf Posted July 9, 2009 Share Posted July 9, 2009 Has anybody had any luck finding/using paint or marker or whatever to conceal scratches on the shift gate face plate? I scratched mine up installing a sub and sirius. I asked subaruparts about a replacement gear selector shift gate face plate in grey (trim code D20, color code 39D), and they said I would have to purchase the entire shift mechanism (and install$$$). The shift mech is ~$300 so I'm not going that route however I look at the scratches every time i get in my (new to me) car so I'm bummed. Th dealer found that I can order the face plate to the gear indicator shift gate along with a couple other small components in a unit for about $60...that's still steep but I'll do it.
