shtbxr22
So, this is what my trip meter said when I got home. about 95% hwy driving at 55 mph w/ cruise. I filled it up, and reset the trip before the 79 mile trip, and the gas guage has barely started to move. I'll update at the end of the week for a total mileage breakdown, and actual mileage. we all know the one in the car embellishes by a couple mpgs......stay tuned! http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m194/star91281/0607091823.jpg

808subaru
FYI, you cannot take an accurate measurement of MPG per tank if you fill up less than 1/2 a tank of fuel.
shtbxr22
I haven't calculated it yet. that's just what it said after an 80 mile trip. I will post what the computer says when I get to empty, and I will calculate it myself using how much fuel I put in to fill it against the miles traveled. I'm sure it will be off by at least 1.
ToRealEyes
mine reads about half that value. on good days. :lol:q
shtbxr22
275 miles so far on the first half tank. he he
korntera
Mine usually reads in that range too but then i calculate it and its like 16-19MPG, but thats because I have 848cc injectors lol.
LGTLW
I think your first 79 miles were all downhill until you reached hell, this is where you will begin to see 17.8-20.9 mpg from week to week. enjoy
aigochamaloh
You can make that gauge read ridiculously high, and calculate a pretty low number. Curious what the hand calculated mpg will be. My highest is 30.
shtbxr22
ok, so the tank is empty. what a boring week. the trip got to 511 miles, using 15.239 gal to fill. the computer read 35.1 avg mpg. actual calculated mileage.....33.5 mpg. wow, so the computer was off by 1.6mpg. so i was pretty close in my guesstimate of how far the thing would be off. aigochamaloh
That is crazy good mileage. Nice going! I never have the patience to go that slowly to achieve a mileage like that. Maybe one day in this car's life I will do that.

Imrac
Wow, I am lucky if I hit 20 mpg on a tank. I think when I fill up today I am going to try my hardest to drive like an old lady, probably wont last longer than a day though =/.
shtbxr22
it's hard with everybody blowing by you looking at you like an asshole. I thought it required alot of restraint. I could never drive like that all the time.
aigochamaloh
Absolutely. It was hard for me to keep it at 75. I'm amazed I even got 30.1mpg at that speed. If I were going 55 on the 5 driving from norcal to socal, people would think I'm retarded or something

97LGT
i wish i got more then 20.76MPG. got less then 200 miles out of 9 gallons. i think theres something fishy about my gauge, was on E and only took 9 gallons to fill. should have taken about 14-15 gallons. gotta check my receipt. Jerboa113
suddenly your car is a prius! ya know the fuel gauge on my car is weird, maybe everyone's does this.. but it falls the 1st 1/4 tank very slow, guzzles through the 2nd 1/2 and then the 3rd 1/4 moves quickly until it gets to an 1/8th.. then it moves very slowly again. BAC5.2
It stinks, my commute is far too hilly for the first 18 of 40 miles. My 09 N/A started out getting 28mpg normal driving, and declined by 5,000 miles to get under 23. But it was a Lemon. The first tank in my OBXT has been averaging 23.9 all-city. AV8TORSADF
FYI, you cannot take an accurate measurement of MPG per tank if you fill up less than 1/2 a tank of fuel. You can if you figure miles done since last fill up and divide it by current fill up.
05Boost
whats the best highway speed for mpgs? going my the compt i got like 3mpg more going 68 then i did 58 in my 05 lgt
AV8TORSADF
Around here one can't go less than 75Mph on interstate highways, even in the slow lane. I typically cruise between 75 - 80. My car only has 1230 miles on it now so another thousand or two and it will be fully broken in.

massdrewski
I just got done with an all highway road trip. Pulled in and did the calculations. 36.3mpg.....I drove 187 miles with using only 5.15 gallons of gas....Now that is a gas sipper.
