FrozenNorthLGT
Well after seemingly months of crappy weather and packed schedules I finally had time to wash and wax the LGT last weekend. Just wanted to share the results. 1. Spray down car, Turtle Wax Bug remover on the front bumper and mirrors. 2. Wash with Meguiars Gold Class car wash, wool mitt, dry with waffle towel and absorber. 3. Wash rims with Eagle 1 A2Z wheel cleaner, dry with old waffle towel. 4. Meguiars Scratch-X on a few spots. Excellent on light scratches and swirls. 5. Four Star Clay Bar entire car with Four Star lubricant. 6. Meguiars paint cleaner (#1 in there old three step process) to get rid of the remaining rust spots from IFO and Brake Dust. 7. Klasse Sealant Glaze 8. Meguiars Gold Class Liquid Wax 9. Eagle 1 Never Dull on Exhaust tips. 8 hours total (yes all by hand) Oh yeah, and I remembered I wanted to do a debadge, just before I started washing. Glad I didn't think of it when it was time to wax... lol.
FrozenNorthLGT
Forgot the engine bay pics. Nothin fancy, just armor all, cleaner not the protectant, and lots of paper towel.
underpowerd
nice work, tough to get a shine out of silver. i had a thing for gold class back before nxt, nice wax for the $. only potential issue i note is how long to allow the klasse sealant to dry take before waxing over; usually i won't wax over a sealant till the next day at least. FrozenNorthLGT
Thanks. On the Klasse sealant issue. I dont know hwo long its supposed to sit to dry, I have heard over night too. But with my schedule, and the fact that the garage I use to do my detailing it an hour form my apartment, I have limited choice. So I made sure that it buffed off cleanly, and tried the was in a small area first to see if there was any smearing of "lifting" issues, and didnt note any. Its been a week and a half now and it still looks good. Needs a wash again, but thats about it...
