Black Dragon
Hi I got this problem and I don't know if this is the right forum. the problem is that the Right Camshaft Sensor is reading -50 while it should be 0 at idling and the value for it should be -1, 0 and 1 the left side have no problem at all also there is a clunkin sound can be heared from the passenger side. I tried to swap the sensors and got the same result for the right side. My car is a 2007 Legacy 3.0R and I'm using 10-W60 Castrol Edge Sport oil and withen 2500 miles, the oil level drob dramatically and I filled it again with almost 1.6 leter which is too much for this kind of oil. I have the log from Subaru Select Monitor III for that problem. My thought this would be a camshaft related problem.. any advice or help ?? PhilT
It's most likely the OCV's, the valves which control the oil going to the camshaft actuators. Why are you running 10W60 ? Double Award Winning Legacy GT Wagon

PhilT
If you have a laptop, download Romraider logger and take some logs. You can monitor the duty cycle and the advance angle. Double Award Winning Legacy GT Wagon
