Y2KOB
I've got the front end of the motor apart to change the water pump and it seems that I should change the timing belt while I'm in here. There's 80,000 miles on the original so it's time. Is there anything other than the belt that I should buy while I'm ordering parts? Who's got the best manual describing the installation and alignment of a timing belt as I've never done this before. Rich jcmsp062@aol.com
frostbite3360
You might want to pick up a Hayne's manual on your Outback. It will give you a better idea of what to do. A new water pump might be a good idea though. It's supposed to be replaced at 100k anyways.
blackfang
Best manual is a Subaru one. I wouldn't trust a Haynes. Timing belt is due at 105k so you might was well do the belt now to save yourself some time.
