NORULZleggy
I want to run some new 18's but I have an 08 2.5i and I Do not know how it would affect the TPMS system in the car. Do I have to get wheels with sensor's in them or what? Also is there a way to turn it off. Seems to me to be a Pain cause my TPMS light is on and in my STI I did not have all these smart goodies to worry about now. What are any of the other people with 08-09's with the TPMS doing when they get new wheels? http://www.teamzx2.com/images/smilies/sheep.gif
rurouni_x
they can be easily swapped over to the new wheels. Whats up the the jumping sheep?
NORULZleggy
Well I want to have two sets, one for summer and one for winter. So the stock 17 I have now I want to keep with the tires and not swap over. So if I got new wheels I would have to get sensors put in them right? What you not like my jumping sheep? Like my sheep you will http://www.world-of-smilies.com/wos_starwars/emporerslightning0.gif
rurouni_x
lolz well if you want you can get a new set of sensors from the dealer they are about 80-100$ a piece and every time you swap the wheels over I believe you have to get them reprogrammed as well. Or you can just put normal valves and ignore the stupid light
gf2020
I just mounted up my new 18" wheels a few weeks ago - I went with no TPMS sensors. The TPMS warning light is on and I covered it with a little sticker I made up reminding when my next oil change is due. If you have 2 sets of sensors you have to reprogram the car each time you change over the wheels. That seemed like a hassle to me.
