Hey everyone. I've searched and can't seem to put together an answer. Has anyone run into any issues running 75w fog bulbs in place of the stock 55w?

Thanks,

I've seen that as well. Although HID are supposed to run at lower temp than the halogen setups. I want to put in some yellow fog bulbs (no films), but can only find them in 70watt setups. I'm not sure what the factory wiring will hold up to without burning up. Also, has anyone melted the housing running a higher watt bulb?

My passenger side front headlight (low-beam) was out so I popped the cover to change it.

The plastic electrical connector was melted and the wire was exposed.

I definitely won't be running higher wattage bulbs anymore.

I have yellow fogs. Got them from Daniel Stern. There's a thread that mentions him:

Put H3 Gold bulbs ($13.50/ea) in the fog lamps.
I got them from http://store.candlepower.com/ which I believe is his site.

Direct link to the H3 Gold:

As for headlights, I'm running these higher wattage bulbs, recommended by Daniel Stern in that thread.

They are significantly brighter than stock bulbs. Have been running them for a good year or so now. No problems here.

Neither brother outahere nor I had any problems with the 85W H3s, but per his suggestions (relay), I've pulled the bulbs out of there for the time being, awaiting the re-wire.
