Noeladams
Just wonder if anyone else has had issues with their torsion bars for trunks with spoilers. So far they popped out of place once and the dealer was able to get them back in and while on vacation this past week my wife's mom went to open the trunk and we heard a kaboom. One of the torsion bars broke this time at the end. It took out 1 bar, trunk light, light assembly lol. I was also wondering if someone else put the factory spoiler on and didn't swap out the trunk springs but I have no way to verify it.
Dean Prodromos
I have a 97 GT with a spoiler and the springs are weak. I just can't find a reference on how to replace them. There are two different part numbers for trunks with and without a spoiler. Perhaps you have the wrong part?
Noeladams
Revived lol, the dealer said they have never seen that happen before and got it replaced. Here goes a link on how to install the spolier on your 97 GT: http://personal.nbnet.nb.ca/apples/spoiler/ The torsion bar tool is 100.00 but you can do the same thing with a 2x4 or some kind of bar..... hope it helps.
