I am an idiot

Recommended Posts

I just spent the weekend driving my girlfriend's dad's 630HP 2007 Hamann Porsche 911 Turbo. We were house sitting and he told me I could take it out if I was careful. "Get one scratch on it though, and I will kill you," he said.

I drove it a bit the night we got there, and holy f***. It was a spiritual experience.

So, we went for a drive the next day and sure enough, when I was leaving the gas station parking lot, I scraped the front lip.

I jumped out and looked and it was pretty bad. Scratched up the entire length of the thing. I called him right away and he said it wasn't a big deal. He said he's done it before and I probably just added to the scratches. He was lying. The car was perfect before I touched it.

I'm an idiot.

i  this thread.

oh, and i wouldn't worry as long as you told him immediately and he was cool.

next time you take a car like that out, drive it like it's 2 inches off the ground.

I wouldn't stress about it since the Dad was so cool with it. I would believe him if he says he's scraped before. My best friend has an '02 996TT that we just went to go pick up in November and we scraped at least twice in the first half hour of driving home. Those things are insanely low.
