That looks painted on. Is there anything that can be done to do something like that on my intercooler?

well depending on how ghetto you want to do this, here's my version

never tried it, and it just poped into my head at 1 in the morning

get a cardboard box, goto subaru, ask the salesman if you can pop the hood on the STi

do this inside the showroom, if they have an STi in the showroom, most likey they will

get a marker (permanant marker Sharpie) and trace it exactly how it looks, best you can

on your way home, goto Home Depot/Lowes any hardware store

ask the paint department which spray paint will work best on an intercooler and purchase the red one (pick up a very sharp exacto knife or razor if you dont already have one)

once you arrive home, start cutting it out, postion the way you want the "STI" mark to come out and start spraying

hope that the spray paint doesnt do any physical harm to the intercooler and hope that the red paint sticks onto the intercooler

or

you can ignore this and just buy an intercooler that alrady says "Sti" on it off of ebay or whomever sells it for cheap, preferably dealer

it may be more expensive, but it might come with a warranty, if it doesnt you can always sue them if it malfunctions

have fun

um yeah, it's called a stencil and spray paint. use whatever color you want.. Get a logo on the net, print it out big, use it as a stencil to draw on a cardboard piece, use an exacto to cut out the logo on the cardboard, lay on top of intercooler, and use all-weather paint ( or heat resistant paint) I very much doubt it will affect the intercooler. Doesn't have to be sti, make a stencil and spray it on.
