mistermixology
Hey guys, This is my first post and I've just come from a 02 WRX into a 05 5MT LGT Ltd. I LOVE it. However, the only problem that i have is that the CD changer is giving me trouble with burned CDs. It plays them, but there is a static like sound over the music. This has never happened in my rex or when I play the CD in any other car. It doesn't do this with bought CDs. Any info? Thanks
al-gorithm
No trouble with either burned copies of store-bought cds or the store bought cd themselves. Did it this problem start from the first time you used it? Could need a cleaning with one of those brush discs. If that don't work, I would take it back to the dealer as both regular and copied cds should work. I have had no issues. Might want to run a search just in case. Guest *Jedimaster*
It won't play MP3's. I had the problem and someone very nice told me to use WMP to burn the CD's in a format other than MP3.

John M
All I've played since I bought my car is burned CDs. Usually that noise means it was burned at too high a speed for the media. Try a test burn a few speeds slower and see if it changes anything.
rallispec
try a different brand of CD-R's? I've had no problem use cheap-o Memorex CD-R's.
thatmank
I've had similar problems with mine as well. Try using a different brand of cd, i was using an Office Depot brand and they played crappy. Now I'm using Memorex and they sound a lot better. I'm not sure that this is "the Fix", but it worked for me.
S4
Alternatively, try burning a little slower.
