wingsno19
I have a 96 Legacy GT Wagon AT and just finished replacing the starter. A few tips for anyone who is looking to do this job. The starter is bolted in two places. The one on top is very visible, and is a 14mm bolt. The one on the bottom is impossible to see and very hard to get at. It is a 17mm NUT. Because of the tough access, it took some time to figure out it was a 17. Lastly, disconnect the water hose for the heater inlet. You get a lot more space doing this. a89aries
I had to do that job back in the late summer. Wasn't too bad but that bottom bolt was a bit of a bugger. After re-installing it i realized id forgotten to put the lock washer on the bottom bolt!! doh!
