I'm not in the states but real close to you guys. I just got a 2001 legacy GT wagon, the JDM 2.0 twin turbo. Now for the questions since the manual is in japanese! what is the recomended oil for this baby? I am using castrol syntec 5w50 in it now due to availability of oils ( only castrol and local ilk! ) but I'm sure this is not exactly the right stuff. Also brake and auto tranny fluids!

Next where in hell can I get exterior mods for this car outside Japan or Australia! a simple little roof spoiler lets say? ( like the JDM STI legacy wagon spoiler not the lil bitsy USA one ) Also do the front strut bars fit the JDM models with that intercooler?

Sorry for sounding like a noob but I can't seem to find this basic stuff online in any language I can read ( IE english lol ) and since I'm a newbie in here.

BTW does anyone know if wrx/sti intercoolers fit the JDM legacy twin turbos? thats high on my list of mods unless I can find AVO intercoolers at a decent price.

Thansk for your time guys.

Oil, fully sythetic, 10/50-60w, go for a good named brand.

5w is too thin for your warm climate :)

In the UK we get Castrol 10/60w RS.

Std dot4 brake fluid is fine, also as long as the trans fluid is a good make, std spec is fine, though an aux cooler is a good idea.

Exterior bits, Japan and Oz are really the only places (same probs for me)

Try http://www.irs.co.jp excellent service, used them a few times for parts.

Strut braces will be model specific.

AFAIK wrx/sti intercoolers will not fit.

So start saving the money, AVO ones are good.

Though if you know an intercooler specialist, might be woth getting a quote.

'Bablefish' on the web can translate, though you need to scan/cut n paste the text.
