KegTapper Posted March 1, 2009 Share Posted March 1, 2009 It's not a grinding, but more of a creak as I turn the wheel, both directions. It only makes the noise at 2 turn "locations", but it's always reproduceable - that is, from a lock-turn to the left to a lock-turn to the right, it makes the noise consistently. Is this something to be worried about mechanically, or just another sign of lackluster interior quality a la my creaky plastic around the CD player? My steering made a slight noise at lock and sometimes I could feel a pulsating feeling coming from the steering wheel. Ended up being a badly cracked accessory belt. KegTapper Posted March 3, 2009 Author Share Posted March 3, 2009 I don't think it's a belt, as it's coming right from the steering rack, at 2 locations during a turn (but not near max, where the power steering is stressed the most).
