Ulf Wafflestein
Beginning this last week, I've run into problems starting the car. A few times now when I go to start the car, the gauges will flash for a split second, then the car will stop trying to start. I have to turn the key again to get it going. After getting my new clutch put in I've noticed that sometimes at a stop the idle will jump a few hundred rpm for a few seconds but I don't think that has anything to do with my battery or starter. Could it just be the starter? Any suggestions?
RustyShackleford
Maybe one of the interlock switches like the one that requires the clutch pedal to be depressed ?
Ulf Wafflestein
Earlier today when I started it up I noticed that it seemed as if the computer had thrown a code because everything was reset and the cruise was flashing. After I parked and came back to the car though, everything started up fine and the flashing cruise was gone. I'll have to call the dealership when they're open tomorrow. RustyShackleford
This seems vaguely reminiscent of what my MY97 was doing about onceevery year or so. I'd start it, the MIL would illuminate, and it would runlike CRAP, maybe barely able to exceed 30mph, or just dying. Then I'dsimply re-start it and it'd run great for the next year. Seriously. I gave it to a friend so it's her problem now ! She says it's died on her acouple times. Mechanic said the code said a "transmission neutral switch"but I don't see how that would cause it to die. Not start, maybe. Good luck.
