I have two shops I feel comfortable with. Pricing is very similar. Which is the best system?

Cleansweep

Hertz HSK 165 Component Front Speakers

Hertz HCX 165 CoAxial Rear Speakers

Cleansweep

Focal 165 KRC CoAxial both front and rear door speakers. Test it to see how the stock tweeter sounds. And either run it, resist it, or turn it off. http://www.focal-fr.com/catalogue-docs/EN/14/files/1742.pdf

JL Audio HD 600/4 amp

I would suggest considering losing the rear fill in favor of the more expensive and wonderful sounding Hertz MLK165. I've only heard them on the board against the HSK, and they are so smooth and wonderful. Currently saving for a set myself. One note, I found them online for $500 ($350 savings), but asked the local shop if they could meet me in the middle and they gladly did. I would still buy them locally, as you plan to.

MLK are phenomenal. And pricey. Are you saying go with them in the front and pass on rear drivers? Because I didn't consider that.

Yes, I would not put in rear fill, and instead go the for MLKs. Then, use the Arc to bi-amp them (Channel 1+2 to tweets and 3+4 to mids). You may find it increases things spatially.

Also, I would recommend putting the tweets in the A-pillars. Don't forget to send pics when all is done.

PXE-H650 is an EQ. It has almost no user controls, it's set up by a mic.

Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty.2 does everything a cleansweep does, with one major difference, it gives you user control over the EQ bands, so you can adjust things to your liking.

Dealer installed a new HU due to malfunctioning CD player.

Immediately put in the CS disk and equalized. Set the Hertz MLK tweeter crossovers at position 3, which is a bright setting to address my high frequency hearing loss. There is one higher setting, btw.

There is a low frequency signal produced from the factory sub with the HU volume set to 35 and the CS volume set to zero. I also have to fade 100% forward as the rear OEM speaks are still wired. These are the things you have to work around when you have a set-up like this.

I am satisfied with the install and performance of the components: Cleansweep, ARC 300.4, and Herts MLK components in the front. I doubt I'll ever get a sub, but I might get another amp and speakers in the rear, depending on how it goes over time.

The iPod interface is extremely convenient. If you're on the fence, get it. You'll love it. Working the iPod from the steering wheel is great. And the display showing song, artist, album is informative and looks sophisticated. You would not want to change volume off the steering wheel if you have a cleansweep, however.
