abakja1
wow,,...how did you manage to put 275s on a 7.5" rim,,, Looks tough though at the autocross,....
jazzymt
wow,,...how did you manage to put 275s on a 7.5" rim,,, Looks tough though at the autocross,....Well - I wouldn't have thought to try it actually, but when I bought the wheels, the guy before me had 275's on them and as you can see - it works. When I replaced the R-compounds with the 615's, I stuck with 275 & it wasn't a problem. 0verboost
Would you sell just the rims?
jazzymt
Would you sell just the rims? Why not buy the tires on the rims? They're damn good tires for a steal of a price..? I don't really want to have to dismount the tires from the rims, but if you insist - PM me an offer. I'll consider it, but I bought 7" wide RPF1 rims for $600 used...having to take the time & spend the money to have them taken off will also make them more expensive... kos
oh man...i wonder how much fender modification i would need to fit these under my car...probably would have to roll and pull due to my ride height and the aggressive offset
jazzymt
Dunno - I had my Outback riding on the bump-stops for the pictures above & it didn't rub at all even in aggressive turning...Outback bump stops are probably a good ~1" taller than Legacy though. caramall2
How did it handle compared to "normal" tires? Just curious...those are seriously wide. Looks like they're staying planted well in the photos.
jazzymt
They're the best street tire I've ever driven on - not quite as good as R-compounds, but very predictable by contrast & still quite sticky. I'm not sure what "normal" is, but a regular all-season tire will never compare to a performance summer tire when it comes to raw grip on dry asphalt. These are probably "Top 5" or so when it comes to a street-legal performance tire. jazzymt
Tires are now separated and for sale at $350. That's a hell of a good deal considering I paid $660 plus tax and installation for them originally and I've only driven on them at 3 autocrosses. They probably have 80-90% tread left.
