mikesae
I'd like to get a set of RSB & FSB for my 2.5i, but have read the odd comment about them possibly squeaking or clunking. Are they prone to making noise or will I be OK? Thanks
jamal
swaybars themselves don't have anything to do with noise unless they don't fit right and bang into things and clunk. urethane and spherical bearings are what can make noise. well greased urethane and new bearings are generally quiet but they can occasionally make some noise. mikesae
I wonder what is is about aftermarket bearings; there's the occasional post about squeaking and clunking, whereas noone complains about noise from stock anti sways.
Pawlwawl06
When I first got my F/R Rallitek sways, they were relatively quiet. As time progressed, the noise from the bushings got louder and louder. It seems to come and go, but the noise is bearable now.
mikesae
Is it a squeaking sound? Have you tried troubleshooting it? How do you like the sways otherwise? Thanks
Pawlwawl06
Is it a squeaking sound? Have you tried troubleshooting it? How do you like the sways otherwise? Thanks Yeah, when I took it to my local Subie tech, he knew what it was right away. Just by pulling down on the sways, he could recreate the sound they were making. Basically, when you go over any dip in the road, you will hear some sort of noise. Lately, I haven't noticed the noise at all. Maybe because they were brand new before? Other than that, I love them. The front sway bar creates a bit of oversteer, but I like how tight it makes the car feel. Going to get the rear bar endlinks soon.
