RyanPDX Posted December 5, 2008 Share Posted December 5, 2008 I really dont like the grill on my 08 outback xt and was wondering if anyone has found an aftermarket one or modified theirs using methods described on this forum? The 2008-09 is different than the legacys and older outbacks so all the current aftermarket ones I have found wont fit. I am thinking if I cant find one blacking out the chrome and removing the wings and adding black mesh and a subaru emblem. I am a little tentative on doing this since I havent seen any 08 modified grills and am not the best at doing things myself. Maybe I will be the first but it will probably have to wait till spring. firepyro515 Posted January 7, 2009 Share Posted January 7, 2009 If you search around, you will find more info especially down in the "Exterior/Aesthetic" part of the forums. I would say the best thing to do would be to black out all of the chrome, or just maybe the ring and leave the wings or vice versa. Mesh may be hard because of where the separation occurs between the grille and the hood.
