Looks to me like the outlet of the compressor wheel and the turbo wheel are 180 degrees apart. Maybe some of the other rex guys have more insight as to weather the WRX upgrade turbos could fit.

Your eyes are correct, they are about 180 degrees apart. I initially was also taken by it thinking there could be some issues. Supposedly as I'm told, and the more I look at info, it doesn't sound like too much of an issue other than making sure the wastegate actuator (IIRC) is situated right. The housings supposedly can slide around the turbine/compressor shaft axis and be tightened down to the desired angle as needed.
