Sirius Install

Hey guys...

I just picked up an 08 Legacy, and I was wondering how everyone sets up their Sirius with it. I dont really want to spend $400 to get the Subaru brain, but I dont want a big radio hanging of the dash.

Has anyone made a clean setup with their receiver? My sportster fit perfectly in my Mustang, but i cant find a place for it in the Subby....

Lol! I just got my 2007 and found this in my search. I also have a sportster that fit perfectly in my Mustang and am looking for options in the LGT. I definitely don't want my big old Sportster 2 cluttering up my interior now...and listening to broadcast radio reminds me of why I pay for satellite radio.

pic in there of where many of us put the Antenna. I have a Sportster 5, i have the display on the dash to the left of the steering wheel. out of the way for driving, yet easy to read.

there are installs in the cubby, but you have to remove the door on the sportster series.

i'm about to try the Panasonic controls, make the factory HU control the Sportster... if it works, i'll put the Sportster in the glove box or something.

Reposting here, Sportster 5 fits absolutely perfect into the cubby if you remove the door. I have nothing mounting or holding it there, just a perfect fit and it wedges into place. I'd like to cut a piece of textured black plastic to frame it out and make it look nice but I'm too lazy. Cost me $50 for the unit, way cheaper than the Subaru one which doesn't even support scrolling text so you have no idea what you're listening to.

That's where I'm thinking I'll put it too. Any progress on putting some sort of trim around it to hide the void?

I was considering ordering a blank cubby pod but decided I could do the same with fiber. When the weather gets warmer I plan on pulling out the whole vent piece again and molding some fiber to hold the Sportster. Unless someone has an easier idea.

It should be noted, removing the cubby door also removes needed shielding for the clock/computer below it. The sunlight comes down from the windshield and glares it big time. So whatever I do it's going to need to stick out or at least has a small lip to prevent sunlight from hitting it.
