Fitting Subaru Flush Mesh grill (Part #J1017AG090)

Hi All,

I recently purchased a factory subaru flush mesh grill for my JDM 2003 (A-C) LGT with part number J1017AG090. But I have noticed it is not fit correctly due to the clips at the bottom being to large to clear the bar. Im guessing I have purchased the wrong model grill, it probably suites the current facelift D-F versions.

I found this link where by the guy cuts off the bottom clips. Has anyone else done the same? and what did they do to secure the bottom of the grill?

This is a correct grill for JDM A-C cars, but only fits SpecB, 3.0R and Outback bumpers. I have this grill on my USDM Legacy with JDM SpecB bumper conversion.

It does not fit regular JDM GT or USDM cars (except 05-07 USDM Outback).

EDIT: Incorrect info above. Does not fit USDM Outback.

Thanks, I have the JDM GT so thats the problem. I believe the correct part # is j1017ag060 for the JDM GT. I am now in two minds to sell my one and buy the correct one (which i have the oppertunity to do so).

I have the chance to do the bumper conversion as well, but what is involved in that? Is it just the plastic bar or all the support behind it as well?

Will post pictures when I put a grill on. Cheers
