rayeve Posted November 2, 2008 Share Posted November 2, 2008 I have a 2001 Outback that is in super condition. However, the OEM audio is good, but not excellent. For example, I'm missing real tweeters in the doorposts, no subwoofer, etc. So, here's a question or two: 1) does anyone know how good the headunit is in the 01? (I.e., if I swap out for really good speakers, is the amp/tuner up to real fidelity? 2) If the head unit isn't great, is it possible to replace it with something better that is just a plug-in to the original mountings?
