07GTLEG Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 i am planning on installing my cobb tbe on my wifes car this week.it is an 07 legacy gt with 9000 miles.do i reuse the original gasket or do i need a new one?the instructions say nothing about any gaskets so i figure it must be reused.but not sure?
fonts Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 That is a topic of debate. A lot of members have re-used gaskets without much problems. Gaskets are manufactured for a one time use. The last thing you need is to screw around for hours replacing a $20 gasket on a $1,200 exhaust due to a leak. I say buy a new turbo to DP gasket at least. The donut gasket (DP to catback) is quite a bit pricier and you are less likely to have problems re-using that one.
07GTLEG Posted October 26, 2008 Author Posted October 26, 2008 anybody have a part# for the gasket that goes in between turbo and downpipe.

07GTLEG Posted November 1, 2008 Author Posted November 1, 2008 well i just finished installing stage 2 from cobb on the wifes car.i got the new downpipe gasket from 5 star.the install on everything went smooth.the only minor time consuming part was getting the cobb turbo heatshield into position.it took a little wiggiling to get her in place.the car sounds great and the power is good enough for the wifey(for now).i am gonna go take it out and have some fun until she gets back in town tommorrow.
