FASTONE
I want to do a swap a 6cd changer from 06, 07 or 08 into 05 to gain mp3 and aux capability, i read up on jazzy fix and other method but i think it would be better just to swap the radios if they fit without modification, so i want to know if anyone have dome this and if it a direct replacement, i want to know if the 08 will fit because i can get it cheaper then 07. Also what about the factory sub, can i just change the wire harness? I need your help. Thank you <P>http://i395.photobucket.com/albums/pp39/timkl25/07_Legacy_spec_B_radio.jpg ^^^ts 07 spec b i think, looks like it might fit, and here is 08 http://i395.photobucket.com/albums/pp39/timkl25/Leg07consolenavigation1.jpg
RustyShackleford
Can't answer your question except to say that a '06 radio will NOT give you aux-in. (At least mine doesn't).
Detslider
JL Cleansweep with your stock radio is a cheaper option than swaping with on '07 or '
phez
I too have the same wish. I have a 2003 JDM and would like to swap it out for the AUX and MP3. I can get the GX204JHF2, the factory headunit with MP3 and AUX for a cheap price. I got the guy to show me photos of the rear and it has 3 plugs. Has anyone done this? goneskiian
As Rusty said, the '06 won't give you Aux in or Satellite radio (and consequently no iPod integration either as that uses the Sat plug). Yes, the '07 works fine. Many of us have already done this swap. You really can't get more plug 'n play. Search is your friend as there is a MASSIVE thread on this very topic. http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50364 No one has tried swapping an '08 or '09 HU into an '05 car. Guess you'll have to be the guinea pig. Might be your only option too as I don't know if the '07 HU is even available unless you find one in a scrap yard somewhere. phez - Sorry mate most of us are in the US on this site. I would bet it would work just fine though. Going a bit off topic, I've got a good friend from Sydney. He's an Audi nut and I've permanently given up trying to keep up to him with cars since he got his RS4. Cheers!
magu
I too have the same wish. I have a 2003 JDM and would like to swap it out for the AUX and MP3. I have the same, but an '04 OB JDM (with the Panasonic TV screen as well, which I'll use for the carputer I'm building). Where can you get that unit? How much? If I can't get that to work, I'm thinking of using the MD input for the aux-in hack. Does you radio have a CHR button in it as well? How does it differ from the in-dash 6-disc changer? I'm also in Auckland.

goneskiian
Factory sub works fine with the newer HU and should with the aux-in as well. I've got the factory sub and it too was "plug n' play". Cheers!

goneskiian
In case others have the same question HU = Head Unit. It's referencing the whole radio + auto climate controls. It looks like one piece because it is. Cheers!
