crunchymac187
I am an Ohio Resident, but recently drove to Canada. For the last few months, the car has been shaking when I brake from highway speeds. When my dad drove it,he acted like it was a HuGE deal. Is it? Do I need to get it taken care of before I make the 300 mile trek back? Thanks
crunchymac187
BTW, I have a 2005 LGT with 39500 miles on, stock everything except for K&N filter.
G.T.Subie
Get some new pads (not stock) and have the rotors machined. Denial is your best friend
Guest LGT-NY
Yup, G.T. is correct, get your rotors resurfaced or replace and upgrade your pads.
crunchymac187
but, is it safe to drive as it is?
crunchymac187
also, I got the brakes changed about 4 months ago. Is this kind of thing covered under warranty?
ebpda9
well you are out of the bumper to bumper warranty as of 36k miles. brake shake is not unsafe, just annoying as hell, and it might take it's toll on balljoins and bearings if left unchecked. what do you mean by having your brakes changed? machined the rotors and got new pads? or had new rotors and new pads installed? crunchymac187
well, I just got new rotors. The guy who was supposed to change my brakes before apparantly cheated me because the new guy said that the rotors looked to be quite old. hah
