FASTONE
Hello everyone, i have a question, will sti or wrx dp fit on the 05 LGT, i just need one for stage 2, i got uppipe from another member here. And other parts are they interchangeable from 05-07 sti and same years wrx.
whitetiger
wrx/sti DP is too short to bolt up to the legacy. you will need to have it extended in order to make it fit.
FASTONE
Thanks for the info, how about air intake and stock vf-39 sti turbo.
Guest LGT-NY
You would need to do an STI swap or go FMIC to fit a Vf39.
FASTONE
so if i swap with sti TMIC, i can use the sti turbo right?
Guest LGT-NY
TMIC and intake manifold and TGV's.
whitetiger
you need to swap the tmic, intake manifold and tgv's to make it work.
Guest LGT-NY
Unless your going for the novelty of the STI swap it makes more sense to go with a FMIC.
FASTONE
but isn't it that FMIC is slower to spool, and what does TGV's stang for?
whitetiger
tumble generator valve perhaps you ashould do a search on "sti swap" and see what it involves
Guest LGT-NY
TGV's stand for Tumble Generator Valves, or air tumblers for short.

FASTONE
So it is better and cheaper to do STi swap or just upgrade to bolt on turbo for LGT.
Guest LGT-NY
It's relative to what turbo and supporting mods you want to go with.
whitetiger
it also depends on if you are gonna do the install work yourself and if you can find used parts for the sti swap.
FASTONE
This is for future, just want to see whats possible, i was thinking maybe 18g or 20g with FMIC, walboro fuel pump, bigger injectors if i have to, intake, BOV for sound and road tune. Guest LGT-NY
BOV for sound This tells the whole story!
FASTONE
No, i know that factory is just fine for performance, but i want keep the LGT happy, i also know that HKS Bov sucks, so i just wanted to know what BOV is sounds good and runs good
Guest LGT-NY
You want a vent to amtmosphere or a recirc? A VTA BOV will give you the Psshhhtt sounds that you desire. A Recirc BOV will give you the best efficiency and performance but little sound. whitetiger
BOV's are not important. spend your money elsewhere.
FASTONE
how about 50/50 best of both, still get the ptshhhh and not loose any performance
