There is a car club at Virginia Tech and they are always looking to add new members to the club.

Especially for Tech students, the club is a great way to meet fellow students who share the same interests as you. I highly recommend joining if you are a new student. Great way to make friends and network. Being a club member allowed me to get a great deal on my LGT since an Alumni of the club is now the sales manager of a Suby dealer.

The website is http://www.carclubvt.com

At least visit the site and check it out. Im not forcing anyone to join, just seems that a lot of people dont know it exists.

I will be down Labor day weekend for the game in Charlotte saturday, but I think we are going to try and organize a little meet in the commuter lot Sunday afternoon so everyone can come out and see each other's cars.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or hit me up on AIM.

Cool man, do you know when they're having their next meeting? Their website isn't very up to date...

Ill find out for you

I just yelled at the President for the website still saying it's summer. Hopefully in the next few days it will get changed.

Until then, feel free to join the forum and start talking to people, introduce yourself. I have a feeling they will be doing a few events before the 1st actual meeting.

A guy with a 05 SWP just joined like 2 weeks ago. So you wont be alone.

Hey guys, the club is having a meet and cruise this coming Sunday afternoon.

They're meeting in the commuter lot between 2 and 3pm. Then at 4 they're gonna drive up the Blue Ridge Parkway towards Roanoke and stop there for dinner, then head back on 81.

Ill be in town for the weekend since I have Monday off from work. Hopefully Ill see a few of you there.

Alright, so we havent done these too often in the past, and its a shame because its such a nice drive.

I know a few alumni will be in town this weekend so it looks like a great opportunity for everyone to get together.

Ryan and I were talking last night and the following seems like a good plan..

2-3pm - Meet in commuter lot for swap meet

4pm sharp - depart for BRP cruise, follow the following route

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=Blacksburg,+VA&daddr=VA-8+%4036.993380,+-80.424370+to:Franklin+Pike+%4036.911470,+-80.278820+to:Blue+Ridge+Pkwy+%4037.046050,+-80.113450+to:I-581+N+%4037.270790,+-79.936159+to:37.167977,-80.317612+to:Blacksburg,+VA&hl=en&geocode=%3B5746900079467171161,36.993380,-80.424370%3B13165032057823878118,36.911470,-80.278820%3B4871652987193784158,37.046050,-80.113450%3B11421390672365423935,37.270790,-79.936159%3B%3B&mra=dpe&mrcr=1&mrsp=5&sz=11&via=1,2,3,5&sll=37.178373,-80.130844&sspn=0.484173,1.057434&ie=UTF8&z=11

Basic route is BBurg > Floyd > Roanoke > BBurg

http://filebox.vt.edu/users/justinl/BRP.JPG

Approx. 6pm - Arrive in Roanoke, stop for dinner, there are a few places around the mall that we can choose from

After dinner - Take 81 back to BBurg, expect to be back by 9pm-ish.

Hey guys. I dunno too much about cars from a take-them-apart-and-put-them-back-together standpoint, but I am an enthusiast. Maybe I ought to join the club.

I just dunno bout these roadtrips. I'd absolutely love to but the Scoob's gettin' tired and she needs to last at least another year, lol.
