Brent S
This is a 2008 Outback with factory navigation system. The navigation screen used to turn to a black background when the car's headlights were turned on, and back to a white background when the lights were turned off. Now, the background is always white. What could have happened? I went to the navigation settings and there is the setting for the nav background that is listed as Auto, On, or Off, and it is set to Auto; yet, it still doesn't respond to the light stalk switch. When I switch it to On, it does turn to black. Any ideas?
EquinnoxX
On mine there is a dial (roller) switch on the dash panel below the drivers side vent. If it's set all the way up the nav screen (and interior lights) will always be on full brightness. Maybe yours is the same ?

One click down from full bright.
