How much will a wheel spoke "flex, deflect, etc"...in reference to caliper

Well I purchased farmerjons motegi wheels as he told me that they were checked on brembos and know to fit.

So, my problem is that they fit but just barely. The outermost edge of the caliper is roughly 2 to 3mm from the spokes, I am talking a few pieces of loose leaf. Im sure if I was to putz around town everything would be fine. But... I do not do that.

It is feasible that the plane of the spokes could change in reference to the caliper under extreme cornering, heating etc. So if the spoke barely clears the caliper I should probably get a few mm spacer or head in another direction.

Pics will certainatly follow. What are the smallest size spacers available?

If you track the car I would be more worry about the caliper expanding under heavy breaking. Repeated heavy breaking would heat up the caliper fast and cause it to expand. I have seen calipers expand enough to rub against the inside of the wheel and made a nice groove at the track.

I think you will be OK for the street though.

Funny you say that as I was originally contemplating using the wheels for track or possible autox if and when I got around to it.

Chenc...on a side note I still have the L7 badges and may very well have them installed on my new grill over the next few days....I've had them for about 2 years!

What are the smallest spacers available? I have found the 5mm which would put the 7in wheels new offset at 37 which per xenock would be the lowest possible.

Is it necessary to utilize longer wheel studs if the spacer is only 5mm or less?

Here are the pics.

It is simply to close, I measured using a spark gapping tool the gap is between .6 and .7mm.

These wheel look sinsiter much more than the current. I am however going to take the gt-v apart and get the dish powdercoated flat black along with the silver center cap, this will result in a gloss black spoke and flat black lip, cap and studs.

I have a set of 3mm spacers laying around that I will never use, but they were not cheap to me. They are a very high end set produced in Canada...

PM me and I will figure out a price...

I have heard 1-2mm for everyday, 5-6mm for track use...

:spin:
